A Legacy Continued: The Fiebelkorns' Journey with The Carpet Center

What began as a family business when long-time Huron resident Gary Venables and his cousin Bob Cameron took over the helm of The Carpet Center in Huron for Gary’s father in 1980, has now been passed on to another dedicated local family. In 2022 Paul and Sarah Fiebelkorn embarked on an exciting new chapter as the newest owners of The Carpet Center, a beloved fixture in the Huron community for over 40 years.

With a passion for quality craftsmanship and a commitment to exceptional service, the Fiebelkorns set out to honor the legacy of The Carpet Center while embracing new flooring technology and innovation. For Paul and Sarah, the decision to purchase The Carpet Center was rooted in their desire to invest in a well-established business and make a positive impact in the community.

Since taking over ownership, Paul and Sarah, along with their staff have worked tirelessly to uphold the values that have made The Carpet Center a trusted name in flooring in Huron and the surround areas. From the ever-evolving product offerings and trends to the challenges of finding committed flooring installers, they strive to make strategic changes aimed at better serving their clientele while staying true to the company's core principles.

The Fiebelkorns understand that choosing the right flooring can be a daunting task, and they go above and beyond to guide their customers through every step of the process from selection to installation. Their vision extends beyond just running a successful business – they are deeply committed to giving back to the community that has welcomed them with open arms. From sponsoring local events to supporting charitable causes, they believe in using their platform to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

Originally from Gregory, SD, then having moved to Huron in 2007 after nine years of working for Sunshine Bible Academy near Miller, SD, the Fiebelkorn’s are grateful for the opportunity to build relationships with those they meet through this venture. They also maintain a friendship with Gary who is now retired however, he says he misses the people. He is enjoying traveling though and spending time with family. When Paul and Sarah are not working, they like going fishing, camping and spending time with their three grown children Rachel, Matt and Ben and their nine grandchildren.

As they look ahead to the future, the Fiebelkorns are excited to continue growing and evolving The Carpet Center, while serving the Huron area. With their passion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to excellence, they are writing the next chapter in The Carpet Center's storied history – one that is sure to be as bright and promising as ever.
